Staying productive, fit and social has always made me feel good. This summer although my plans haven’t necessarily worked out, I am learning to adjust to remain healthy, happy and active, while also remaining low during Covid-19.
On days where I am not working at my local coffee shop in Cold Spring Harbor NY, I never fail to make the most of my days off!

Here’s how my typical day off goes:
9 AM: I sleep in a little (later than how early I wake up to go into work). After I wake up I get dressed and make a healthy plant-based breakfast. My go-to lately, which keeps me energized throughout the morning is an Acai bowl made with my forever beautiful powder from yoursuper.com! One of my main goals I’ve set for this summer is to eat a more plant-based diet. So far I’m doing great thanks to my yoursuper products. I feel good, healthy and energized.
11 AM: Typically I dance. I have danced for the past 17 years. Since I was 3 years old. Dance has served as a platform for me to de-stress, stay fit, socialize and be my truest self.
At school I am involved in Ithaca College’s Defy Dance Company as a member and the social media chair on the executive board. However, being home and not being able to go to studios due to Covid-19, I have dedicated my time to stretching and doing at home workouts. My favorite workouts are full body HIITS from Madfit, a great Youtuber who has a dance background.

Working out in the morning leaves me in a ready mood to conquer the rest of my day!

1-4 PM:
Around this time I have a small lunch or snack whether that be avocado toast, a veggie burger or a Macro bar. After lunch I usually catch up with some friends (social distantly) or do something with my family.

Lately since the weather has been very hot, we've been hanging by the pool or going to the ocean mid-afternoon once the crowds die down a little.
Going to Robert Moses mid-day, around 3 or 4 PM, is my favorite time. It's quiet and relaxing and the perfect time to take a nice, brisk walk down the beach. Last week, we went to Democrat Point, which is about a mile and a half walk from Field 2 at Robert Moses. Typically, many people drive their cars onto this area of the beach if they have passes and camp out. For me, its the perfect, peaceful place to watch a breathtaking sunset and get some fresh air.
9 PM: After a long, productive day out, I usually come home and end my night off with some Netflix. Right now I am watching more documentaries. I am currently enjoying Athlete A and The Crown.
Ultimately, staying busy, but safe during Covid-19 has helped to keep my mood up and my anxiety down. I have significantly altered what a normal summer day during Covid-19 looks like for myself, but I have come to find peace and enjoyment in laying low :)
